Tell us what you think about mental health on TV
Posted Friday 11 December 2009
Do you want to be part of an exciting new research project looking at the best and worst portrayals of mental health on TV? Do you think soaps are getting it right or dramas are wide of the mark in their representations of mental distress? Whatever your opinion we'd like to hear from you.
Mind is currently assisting Shift with a study exploring the impact that TV drama and entertainment has on attitudes towards mental health and stigma. Shift will be running focus groups up and down the country with people who have and haven't had direct experience of mental health problems.
An initial focus group is planned for 17 December at the Kings Fund, Cavendish Square, London from 2.30pm - 4pm. This session will help shape the direction of the research and give us an idea of examples of the kind of portrayals on TV that you find worthy of looking at. It will be an informal discussion and all views expressed will be confidential.
There are only a few places available for this first session so they will allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested please email Katie at email@example.com.
