Paul Farmer, Chief Executive of Mind said today:
"These figures reveal the patchy state of people's experiences of mental health care. Service user involvement shouldn't be seen as an option in delivering treatment, but a necessity - it's alarming that half the people surveyed had no say in the medication they were prescribed, hadn't seen any care plan for their treatment, and haven't had any access to talking treatments, despite NICE recommendations. With 50 per cent of people still having no access to crisis help, further progress is crucial."
