Venn Group partners with Mind

Thursday, 30 June 2016 Mind

Venn Group has chosen mental health charity Mind as its chosen charity for 2016 to raise money and awareness for mental health services.

The company-wide vote now means that employees at Venn Group across the country will continue to support Mind with fundraising activities whilst encouraging candidates, clients and fellow employees to acknowledge the excellent work the charity does.

Every year one in four people experience a mental health problem and Mind provides advice and support to anyone who needs it. Money raised during the partnership will fund the charity’s work including the Mind Infoline as well as campaigning to secure a better deal for everybody who experiences a mental health problem.

Consultants and staff at Venn Group raised a staggering £40,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity in 2015, through running marathons and triathlons, holding charity events with quizzes and raffles and dress down days in the office.

The team hopes to exceed this amount this year by continuing to support Mind throughout 2016 and have already raised funds by donating 14 bags from our office spring clean for Mind’s charity shops, holding a Grand National sweepstake and running Valentines and Easter themed fundraising across all offices.

Jodie Finn, Director at Venn Group, says: “The fact that Mind got the highest number of votes from employees to be our chosen charity for 2016 really goes to show the far-reaching impact and increased awareness that mental health has across the UK’s population. Our employees value the opportunity they have to work with Mind in raising awareness of this cause and we look forward to a successful year supporting Mind and promoting their campaigns.”

Kathleen Miles, Director of Fundraising at Mind, says: "We're delighted to have been chosen by Venn Group as charity partner of the year for 2016. Funds raised through this partnership will help Mind to provide information and advice for anyone affected by mental health problems, and will support our work campaigning for the rights of people whose voices are often ignored."

Further fundraising activities will take place throughout the rest of the year in the form of runs, cycles and swims. There are also talks to set up our own 3 peak challenge as well as a volunteering scheme between Venn Group and Mind.
