The Mental Health Act: how are the changes affecting you?

The Mental Health Act 2007 made important changes to the mental health and mental capacity legislation in England and Wales. The Mental Health Alliance is a coalition of 75 organisations working together to assess the impact of these changes and challenge any negative effects.
We are keen to hear from people who are or have been detained under the Act (sectioned), friends and relatives, mental health professionals, advocates, and anyone else who is in touch with how the Act is working in practice. We shall use the responses to influence policy, practice and the next Government’s agenda.
