Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a complementary therapy that some people with direct experience of mental distress find beneficial in managing aspects of their mental health. There is controversy in the UK surrounding the use homeopathy as clinical trials have so far proved inconclusive about its effectiveness.

For an accessible introduction to the philosophy and principles behind homeopathy Mind recommends the Dr Lockie self-help website.

It is a treatment recognised by the NHS, and there are homeopathic hospitals in London, Bristol, Liverpool and Glasgow. For help with finding a practitioner see the British Homeopathic Society.

NHS Direct maintains a section on homeopathy and The NHS evidence library can be searched by treatment or condition for details of research involving homepathy.
