Ecominds launch event
Ecominds launched on 18 September 2008 at the Kensington and Chelsea Mind Meanwhile Wildlife Gardens on a crisp sunny afternoon with an outdoor tea party.
Mind's CEO Paul Farmer made a toast, the Ecominds Grants Manager Barry Watts spoke, and Alex Taylor from Bridewell Organic Gardens told everyone about the difference funding can make to a project.
This was followed by a 'jelly-cutting' - bespoke Ecominds moulds were being used to "break the mould of mental distress"!
Guests were entertained by the local service user-led steel band, made pledges as part of the Get Moving scheme, wrote comments on the Ecominds Tree of Life, and enjoyed tours of the gardens.
It was a highly successful afternoon, celebrating the success of Ecominds coming into being and envisioning the successes Ecominds aims to achieve over the next five years of the programme.
We will add photographs of networking events and grant recipients projects as they become available.
