How to word your Will

When adding Mind as a beneficiary to your current Will, we suggest you use the following wording to ensure your gift is valid.

Any gift to Mind will make a difference. Leaving a residuary legacy, a share or percentage of your estate once other gifts and payments have been made, means your gift keeps pace with inflation.

Residuary legacy

To leave a residuary legacy we suggest the following wording:

I give [insert percentage] of my residuary estate to Mind (registered charity number 219830), 15-19 Broadway, Stratford, London, E15 4BQ, London, to be applied for its general purposes and I declare that the receipt of the finance director or appropriate officer shall be a complete discharge to my trustees.

Pecuniary legacy (cash sum)

To leave a pecuniary legacy (cash sum), we suggest the following wording:

I give [insert amount] to Mind (registered charity number 219830), 15-19 Broadway, Stratford, London, E15 4BQ, to be applied for its general purposes and I declare that the receipt of the finance director or appropriate officer shall be a complete discharge to my trustees.
