Employment and mental health

Every year UK businesses lose £27 billion and 70 million working days because of mental ill health.

Meanwhile millions of workers suffer in silence as job insecurities, money worries and spiralling debt take their toll on individuals’ mental health.

This year Mind is launching a brand new campaign that will improve work environments and working lives. We believe that friendly, open and supportive work environments benefit everyone, employees, bosses and the bottom line.

Employers will receive free advice on the simple steps they can take to boost mental wellbeing and productivity. Individuals will be given all the freebies and information they need to improve their workplace.

Join the campaign to make your workplace a better place to be.

Mind week 2010

Launching on 15 May, this national campaign will improve workplaces across England and Wales. Currently fewer than 4 in 10 employers would employ someone with experience of mental distress.

This has got to change, Mind will produce everything you need to make your workplace more mentally healthy all you need to do is join in.

If you are an employer please take part in our survey so we can translate our knowledge of mental health into simple practical steps that will improve the wellbeing of your staff and, consequently, your business.
