CCBT Computer-aided cognitive behaviour therapy
FearFighterTM
NICE approved computer-aided cognitive behavioural therapy (CCBT)
FearFighterTM is approved by The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and included in the NHS guidance for the treatment of Anxiety and Phobia. Research has shown that FearFighterTM improves anxious or phobic patients as effectively as face to face therapy giving sufferers a real alternative to drugs and face to face treatment
Relief from debilitating anxiety and phobias can now be achieved conveniently and confidentially on-line. Phobias and panic disorders afflict 1 in 9 people in the course of their lives and are often extremely disabling. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), relief from these debilitating conditions can be achieved in only a few months and in many cases can last a lifetime.
The traditional obstacles to receiving treatment include long waiting lists, too few qualified therapists, distance from clinics, inconvenience of session times and fear of stigma. FearFighterTM overcomes these issues by offering the opportunity to access CBT confidentially on-line in a secure and convenient setting of the individual's choosing. FearFighterTM is generally available under the IAPT scheme through GP referral and, increasingly, self referral.
The FearFighterTM NMC registered National Nurse Advisor Team reinforce implementation of best practice of cCBT within the mental health arena by working with key stakeholders and undertaking customer training.
FearFighterTM includes a Patient Progress Monitoring System (PPMS) giving support workers the tools to provide support effectively and efficiently, whilst minimizing support time and administration.

National mental health development unit

HCAI and Cleanliness Programme (NHS)
Same-Sex Accommodation Programme
The Department of Health set up the Delivering Same-Sex Accommodation Programme at the start of 2009. It is a time-limited initiative that works to ensure that NHS patients and service users - in all but exceptional circumstances - will only stay in same-sex accommodation during care.
The programme includes:
putting people at the centre: engaging with patients, service users, the public and staff to ensure that same-sex accommodation delivery is relevant and contributes to a better experience.
investing in sustainable change: a Privacy and Dignity Fund for Trusts to enable lasting improvements to the care environment as well as fostering design innovation - the development of new design solutions, using input from service users, to promote privacy and dignity
spreading good practice: working with the NHS to provide 'a fresh pair of eyes' as well as support and resources to help Trusts facing particular challenges in delivering same-sex accommodation.
using levers and incentives: putting into place robust and transparent performance measures to ensure that same-sex accommodation remains a priority and is sustained in the long term.

Social Investment Business
www.socialinvestmentbusiness.org
The Social Investment Business is the largest social investor in the UK, with £400 million to invest through loan finance, support and, in some cases, additional grant finance. Our aim is to substantially improve the capacity of third sector organisations to help them to play an ever greater role in improving the lives of the people and communities they serve.
We currently manage four funds: The Futurebuilders England Fund, that helps organisations to increase their capacity to deliver public services, The Modernisation Fund, a short-term fund, helping organisations that directly support people suffering with effects of the recession, the Social Enterprise Investment Fund, which invests in organisations working in Health and Social Care and, the Communitybuilders Fund that aims to strengthen organisations towards more cohesive communities.
Each of our funds has a different focus, meaning we can support a broad range of proposals. We also understand that loan finance is a new approach to funding for many organisations and are committed to tailoring our funds to suit your organisation's circumstances.
The project must benefit people living in England and the organisation must be willing to use loan finance. Specific criteria apply to each fund, but we can discuss the requirements once a decision has been reached on the funding approach.
