Election compact on mental health

The All Party Parliamentary Group on Mental Health, supported by Mind, Rethink, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Stand to Reason, has developed an election compact on mental health.

The compact effectively bans politicians from making slurs on their opponents’ mental health during their 2010 general election campaigning.  This unprecedented initiative demonstrates a cross-party commitment to challenging negative attitudes to mental illness, and shutting stigmatising language out of politics.
