'We need to talk' Parliamentary event
The Mental Health Foundation, Mind, Rethink, The Sainsburys Centre for Mental Health and Young Minds held a Parliamentary next steps event for the 'We need to talk' campaign on 22 October.
This was a very successful event that was well attended by both service users and politicians. Prior to the event, the Government announced in its Comprehensive Spending Review on 10 October that it was committed to ensuring that all GPs in England can offer their patients psychological therapies within six years by increasing spending to £170 million by 2010/11. You can view Mind's comments on this by viewing the press release and also see the press release issued by the five charities involved in the We need to talk campaign.
For more information about the We need to talk campaign around access to psychological therapies, please visit the Policy department's We need to talk pages or the We need to talk campaign website. We would also like to hear from you if you have accessed or tried to access talking treatments on the NHS in the last two years. Please see We need to talk questionnaire website for details of the questionnaire that will ask you about your experiences.
