Ward Watch shortlist six

The one that got away

Linda Hart
The one that got away

"I put empty paint tubes onto the canvas and painted them white.  They reminded me of people in straight jackets. I then moulded heads into them. The last one I stepped on, it was red, so it became the one that got away.

Paul Farber
The depths of despair

"How would you like your life, your feelings and sensitivities to be walled up by the unresponsive, uncaring edifice of the Mental Health system, its hospitals and wards?"

The wardrobe - room with a view

Mr Seth Williams
"The wardrobe - room with a view"

"It is a charcoal/pencil drawing of an open wardrobe in Seth's bedroom on a psychiatric unit and depicts his clothes hanging up.

It is excellent and sends a powerful message - this particular artist has limited subjects to draw due to his detention."
