Mind’s legal publications - status summary following recent changes in law
The amendments to the Mental Health Act 1983 made by the Mental Health Act 2007 came into force on 3 November 2008.
Mind’s Legal Team has been working hard to update Mind’s range of legal resources but there is still quite a bit to do to bring everything up to date.
A summary of the status of each resource follows for your reference, and we will keep you informed via this web page and the Publications e-bulletin (email publications@mind.org.uk if you’d like to receive it).

The Mind manual has been fully updated to reflect new legislation, including the amendments made to the Mental Health Act 1983 by the Mental Heath Act 2007.

This used to cover Managing your finances, but this has been replaced by the booklet Money and mental health: managing your personal finances
We hope to replace it with a brand new Rights Guide 7 which will cover supervised community treatment, and will keep you posted regarding progess with this.
Going out of print: legal posters
The two legal posters Consent to treatment and Mental Health Review Tribunals are now out of date and should no longer be used.
We regret that as demand for them has been limited we will not be producing new editions.
