In-house training

Does your staff need training on mental health issues? Would you like to benefit from a cost-effective package, tailored to the needs of your organisation? If so, Mind's in-house training service can deliver a unique course for you and your organisation.

In-house training saves you time and money because our professional trainers can come directly to you – ensuring there are no travel or accommodation costs incurred for your members of staff.

We can bring our training courses to you and run them for a fixed fee no matter where you are. In-house training gives you the opportunity to concentrate on the specific issues affecting your staff. In-house training also helps staff to share ideas and knowledge.

Whichever course or training you need delivered, the trainer will adapt it to the specific needs of your organisation so staff can focus on topics that are relevant to them.

Our trainers are experts in their field, which enables them to deliver a learning experience that combines both knowledge and expertise to add real value to your organisation.

Because Mind trainers are experts at delivering in-house training, public, private and voluntary agencies come to Mind again and again for tailor-made training.

Frequently asked questions

What types of training do you offer?
Mind offers training on non-clinical aspects of mental health. Course that we have run in the past include Mental Health Awareness, Mental Health Awareness for Frontline Staff, Self Harm and Suicide and Understanding Changes in the Mental Health Act. However, if you have a specific topic or course in mind, please contact Mind with any queries and we will be happy to assist you.

What is the cost of in- house training?
The price of training is in the region of £1,000*. Pricing is structured according to your organisation, and discounts are available for LMAs and voluntary/charitable organisations.

*Trainers' travel and accommodation costs and in some cases preparation time are NOT included in this fee. If an organisation requires extensive course adaptation then this can incur additional costs. Contact the Conference and Training Unit at Mind for further information.

We need to train more/fewer staff than the recommended 15? Is there a reduction/additional fee to the price for the 1 day training?
Here at Mind we have found that in order to gain the most for your staff and from the training in terms of participation and benefit to staff then no more than 15 members of staff are recommended.  You can of course have fewer staff  but the fee is for the one days training therefore there is no reduction in fee.

Please contact Mind to discuss this in more detail, as we can in certain cases be flexible.

We only require a half day's training. What is the cost for that?
On the whole we do not usually recommend a half day training as there is a lot to cover in the full-day training sessions.  Every attempt will be made to accommodate any schedule requirement you may have so please contact the Conference and Training Unit directly.

Can you provide a venue and refreshments?
Mind's trainers come to your organisation and therefore you need to provide a training venue and all refreshments.

What materials and administrative support are provided?
A course pack is provided with all the trainer's handouts and at least two booklets from Mind's publication catalogue.
