About the challenge

After a very successful inaugural event in 2008 the London 10,000 is bigger and better for 2009. Run on part of the 2012 Olympic marathon course, you can take in some of London’s most famous landmarks such as the Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace.

Our support

Whether you have your own place or would like a Mind guaranteed place we will be with you every step of the way. We offer all our runners a fantastic support package including:

  • loads of training and fundraising advice
  • regular e-newsletter updates
  • a vest with your name overprinted
  • cheering points along the route
  • a dedicated and experienced project manager to provide support and advice.

We will do all that we can to ensure that your London 10,000 experience is one you will never forget.

Gaining a place

There are two ways in which you can join the Mind team:

1. Each year Mind have a number of guaranteed places in the event and if you would like to run on one of these we ask that you pay a registration fee of £25 and raise a minimum sponsorship of £275.

2. If you were lucky enough to gain your own place from the event organisers we would love you to be a part of our team too. We do not set you a minimum sponsorship target but ask you raise what you can.

Why Mind

Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales and by joining our team you will enable us to continue to provide support to the 1 in 4 people who experience mental distress in their life times.

£300 could enable us to support a befriending scheme run by a local Mind association. Trained workers make regular phone calls to old or isolated people who are at risk of developing depression and other mental health problems.
