Governance
Mind is governed by a board of trustees (known as Council of Management) made up of 16 trustees drawn from Mind's individual and affiliated (local Mind associations) membership and networks.
The membership of Council must, in so far as it is practicable, include:
(i) a minimum of eight people (50 per cent) with personal experience of mental distress
(ii) one elected member of Mind Link National Advisory Panel (chosen by the members of Mind Link)
(iii) at least two individuals from black or minority ethnic communities
(iv) at least one individual living in Wales
Terms of office are for 3 years and trustees may serve up to a maximum of 3 terms.

Stakeholder Forum Consultation
Mind is currently consulting on a proposed Stakeholder Forum. The intention of the forum is to engage and involve Mind's stakeholders in its work and are looking for feedback on draft terms of reference and volunteers to take part in a pilot of the group in September. The Council of Management is supported by sub committees who have delegated responsibility for overseeing specific areas of Mind's work.
Mind has the following sub committees:
External Relations
Advice and scrutiny role in the relation to Mind's external relationships and direction of Mind's policy, campaigning, media, communications and information work.
Areas within the committees remit include, policy and campaigning, information and legal advice, communications and media work, conferences and training and publications.
Networks Committee
Advice and scrutiny role in relation to support services to LMAs and other Mind networks including quality review, Mind Link, and membership.
Business Management Committee
Oversee and scrutinise all financial, fundraising, personnel and administrative activities of Mind.
Pwyllgor Cymru
Oversee the strategic and general management of Mind Cymru activities within Minds overall strategic direction.
Audit Committee
Responsible for ensuring there is a framework for accountability, for examining and reviewing all systems and methods of control, and for ensuring the charity complies with the law, legislation and good practice.
